Ian,
You might be interested in JavaScriptMVC's new model class. I'm trying to provide a consistent wrapper for all types of data. However, it seperates out events into controllers.

You can see my thoughts on it here: http://javascriptmvc.com/blog/?p=29.

And it in action, with default crud views, here:
http://javascriptmvc.com/screencasts/two_point_oh.htm

If you have any thoughts or more ideas on JavaScript models, let me know!

Two years ago, I wrote the custom-events code that got me a seat on the Prototype core team.

Unfortunately, I also wrote the longest, most confusing essay of my life, to go along with it.

My bad essay wasn't enough to scare everybody away, though. Thankfully. Apple's using my code (with attribute) on their iphone and ipod pages. Go there yourself and look in the source for event_mixins.js

:-)

(I put the URL to my custom-events essay as the URI in your comment form.)

Incidentally, we're testing a new version of the custom events code, and I'm looking for more testers.
