Why the Right Printer Makes All the Difference for Graphic Designers

December 6, 2019

There have been ageless arguments about paper vs digital productions in advertising and media. Many argue that there’s no use doing print advertising or using print products when the average smartphone user spends 9 hours a day looking at a screen. Others say that print will never fully disappear.

Regardless of your take on this argument, you must admit that print advertising and communication still has a place for the present. You’ll see amazing large-format print advertisements all over town and flyers handed out at every corner. And if you’re a graphic designer, you should pay a little more attention to the way your designs come out when they’re printed. Here’s why it’s essential that you only print at the highest quality.

Clients Expect It

Here’s the biggest reason that you need a good printer for all your graphic designs. A client expects the very best from you, especially if your services come at a premium. They will likely ask that you do all the printing for them, and they expect the print to come out looking exactly like the original.

Don’t let your clients down simply because you didn’t take care of their printing needs. Guarantee your prints in your client agreement, and always deliver. This will keep you in business for years to come.

Color Matching Makes a Difference

You might think that minor differences in color between the printed and digital versions won’t matter. But it matters, and sometimes the differences aren’t so little.

First of all, if you’ve shown your client the digital finished product and they’ve signed off on it, that’s what they’ve agreed to. They won’t be pleased to find that the colors are different when it’s been printed.

Additionally, color plays a huge role in presenting the right message, especially in artistic pieces and advertisements. You’d never want to work hard on a project only to discover that the printed piece doesn’t relay your vision.

Speed

Along with choosing a printer that will ensure your products are printed as closely to your digital colors as possible, you also need a highly reliable printer. You’ll find yourself chasing deadlines time and time again, and your printer needs to deliver quickly.

Choose a printer that will get you your products the same day if you’re working with a local printer and within two days if you’re having it shipped. They also shouldn’t charge you an arm and a leg for rush orders.

These printers do exist, although you may need to do a little digging. So, don’t settle for a printer that will bully you around and won’t get your products to you when you need them.

All in all, a great printer is all about branding. You need someone who can help you establish your brand and maintain your quality guarantee. Don’t settle for any less!

Don’t Set Expectations When Giving Promotional Merchandise

September 27, 2019

The problem with some companies giving out promotional merchandise is that they expect something in return. In a way, it’s understandable. You spend money on the promotional campaign, so you expect something in return. Besides, any other marketing campaign would need a target result; otherwise, you can’t determine if the strategy is effective.

However, you need to understand that promotional merchandise is different. It’s not the usual advertising strategy where your primary goal is to convince people to buy. It’s different because your goal is to win people’s hearts. You want to create an image that you’re not only after people’s money. You want to give them something without expecting anything in exchange.

People will feel used

If you’re too obvious that you’re only giving out items because you want something in return, your target audience will sense it. They will feel that you don’t really care about them. Accepting the free stuff would mean they eventually have to spend more. Whether you’re advertising to existing customers or you want to expand your target audience, you want them to feel that you’re sincere in your efforts; otherwise, your strategy could backfire and make people move away from you.

It puts pressure on the marketing team

Your marketing team can come up with creative ways to advertise. They can also think of ways to boost your company using promotional merchandise. However, if you set expectations for them when they decide to use this strategy, they might feel under immense pressure. They can’t think of the best way to give people what they deserve since their minds will focus on how to increase sales. You need to give them freedom in deciding how to warm people’s hearts.

People will buy if they feel like doing it

When you want to give out free items, just give them. If people buy something later, they will do so. Besides, they have other factors to consider in their decision-making process. You can’t dictate to them what they need to do and how they should feel towards your brand. If they see the sincerity of your company and you show it in various ways, you can win them over.

Don’t forget that the quality of your products also matters a lot. You can’t expect people to change their decision if they see no reason for doing it.

Think about the best strategy

The use of promotional merchandise is effective, and it’s been around for years. You need to determine the right strategy to ensure that you can give to the people who deserve the items most. You also need to check how you can partner this strategy with other ways to boost your brand.

Again, it’s only one of the many marketing plans you can use to improve your popularity. If you feel like you did the right thing, you have to wait for the results. Be patient since it takes time for some people to decide which items to buy.

Trade Show Mistakes First-Time Participants Need to Avoid

April 25, 2019

In the world of business, trade shows have become prime events for new companies to network with industry experts, media personnel, and customers. But if it is your first time participating, not only do you need extensive planning, you also need to ensure that you avoid these common mistakes that many rookie exhibitors make.

Going for the big booth

Biggest is not always best in trade shows, especially if you are new. It makes more sense to get a small or medium booth and invest in a high-quality and well-designed exhibit. But the type of trade show exhibit you choose depends on what your business needs. If you have been participating for a long time, you can start scaling up and experiment with different methods of marketing your products and services.

Inadequate planning and goal setting

For trade show veterans, planning for an exhibit is already second nature to them. They know what works for them and how to achieve their goals. New participants do not have the same luxury of experience. For first-time exhibitors, it is crucial to spend time planning and identifying specific goals for the trade show. Activities during the trade show need to ultimately lead to achieving these goals.

Cluttered display graphics

Your displays and exhibition display stands should not be cluttered. Company branding and logos need to be prominently displayed, yet should not be too distracting to the main message you want to convey. High-quality exhibits are great, but keep them to a minimum. There needs to be enough space for your staff to move around and entertain booth visitors.

Ineffective promotional giveaways

It’s always great to give away items to promote your company, but these are too common at trade shows, and attendees are likely to forget about them when they leave. What you need to do is ensure that the promotional product you choose is unique and on-point with your brand. Some excellent examples include a company involved in financial services which gives away handy calculators or a software company raffling off a free version of their product.

Untrained booth staff

Before the event begins, you need to train your marketing staff. Not only do they need to have extensive knowledge about your company and the products you are selling, but they also need to have exceptional customer services skills. Exhibiting at trade shows is more than answering the questions of visitors, but also being able to anticipate their needs.

Failing to network during the event

Trade shows are not only meant to achieve brand recognition, but it is also the perfect time to network with potential business partners, investors, competitors, and suppliers. Focusing too much on prospective consumers is not an effective use of your trade show time. In addition to achieving your marketing goals, you also want to take the opportunity to learn from other businesses. There may be products or services which could benefit your business or trends that you are overlooking. Taking time to strike a friendly conversation with other exhibitors will give you valuable insight into what you can do to improve your company.

Marketing 101: How To Use Marketing Techniques To Help Your Business

March 4, 2019

If you’d like to be able to confidently use a wide variety of marketing techniques, in order to help your business grow, simply continue reading to discover a few simple yet effective marketing tips.

Marketing 101: How to use marketing techniques to help your business grow

1. Make sure that your business boasts a positive online reputation

If potential customers use a search engine to find information on your business and are confronted with negative reviews, they won’t want to deal with your business. So it’s a great idea to focus on convincing your satisfied customers or clients to leave positive reviews about your business on unbiased review sites such as Yelp.

It’s also a great idea to get in touch with any individuals who have left disgruntled reviews about your business online as if you’re able to rectify any issues which such individuals may have with your business, you may be able to change their minds about your business. If you’re lucky such individuals may edit or delete their online review on your business.

2. Use frequent contests in order to encourage your customers to make new orders

One way to get your customers to place new orders is to run a contest where each order which a customer places earns them one entry in your contest. As an example, you may want to offer a contest where the winner is given a few hundred dollars of free products or services from your company.

3. Create and market a rewards program for your most loyal customers

Another way to encourage your customer base to continue purchasing products and or services from your company is to create a rewards program, which rewards your customers for their repeat business. As an example, you may want to create a tiered rewards program which offers different tiers for the different amounts of money which your customers may spend with your business.

As an example, customers who have purchased over $100 of products in a single calendar year may qualify for the bottom tier of your business’ reward program. While customers who spend over $1,000 with your business in a year, may qualify for the top tier of your rewards program.

Usually the higher up a customer is on your rewards tier, the more perks which they’ll unlock such as percentage discount off their orders or free shipping.

4. Sponsor local community events

It’s well worth sponsoring local community events and posting about your sponsorship on a variety of social media platforms, in order to increase your business’ following. As an example, you may want to consider sponsoring a local fun run or a local sports team.

5. Advertise on Youtube instead of on TV

As most individuals visit Youtube several times per week, it’s a great idea to advertise your business on Youtube instead of on a local television network. Furthermore, if you pay to run Youtube ads, interested potential customers will be able to click on your ads, to find out more information about your company, by being linked directly to your business’ website.

If you use the marketing guide listed above to market your business online, you’ll be sure to increase hits to your website as well as your business’ profit.
